Privacy Policy

Rate My Fit! ("we", "our", or "the app") is operated by WeCe LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

a. Account Information

When you sign in using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In, we receive:

• Display name (as provided by your sign-in provider)
• Email address (may be hidden if you use Apple's "Hide My Email" feature)
• Profile photo URL (from your Google or Apple account)
• Unique user identifier (generated by Firebase Authentication)

We do not receive or store your Apple or Google account password.

b. User-Generated Content

• Outfit photos you take and post using the in-app camera
• Outfit descriptions (up to 200 characters per post)

c. Usage Data

• Votes (FIRE/PASS) you cast on other users' outfits
• Follow relationships (who you follow and who follows you)
• Interaction timestamps (when you post, vote, or follow)

d. Product Analytics

To understand how the app is used and improve the experience, we record basic product-interaction events tied to your user identifier. Events include:

• Account sign-up
• Posting an outfit
• Casting a vote
• Revealing your outfit results
• Following another user

These events are stored in our own database (Cloud Firestore) and are not shared with third-party analytics or advertising networks.

e. Screenshot Detection

On iOS, we detect when a user takes a screenshot while viewing an outfit. We record the outfit identifier and the viewer's user identifier so we can notify the outfit poster and display an aggregate screenshot count. Screenshot events are stored in our database (Cloud Firestore). You can disable screenshot alert notifications from Profile → Settings → Notification Preferences.

f. Push Notifications

If you grant notification permission, we store an anonymous push token issued by Apple (APNs) so we can send you notifications (e.g., when an outfit you follow gets posted, or when a daily Runway winner is announced). You can configure which notifications you receive from Profile → Settings → Notification Preferences, or disable them entirely from your device's Settings app.

2. How We Use Your Information

• App functionality: To display your profile, show your posts, process votes, calculate outfit scores, and determine daily Runway winners
• Authentication: To verify your identity and maintain your session
• Social features: To enable following and showing friends' outfits
• Product analytics: To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the app — never for advertising or sold to third parties
• Push notifications: To send you app notifications according to your preferences

We do not use your data for advertising, sell your data to third parties, or build advertising profiles.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Google Firebase services:

• Firebase Authentication for account credentials
• Cloud Firestore for outfit posts, votes, follows, and profile data
• Cloud Storage for Firebase for outfit photos

All data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted in transit). Firebase infrastructure provides encryption at rest. Our Firestore security rules ensure users can only modify their own data.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal information with third parties, except:

• Firebase/Google Cloud: As our infrastructure provider (data processor), subject to Google's privacy policies
• Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority

Your outfit photos, display name, and vote results are visible to other app users as part of the core app experience.

5. Data Retention

• Outfit posts: Voting expires after 10 minutes. Posts remain on your profile unless you delete your account.
• Votes: Retained to calculate outfit scores and Runway standings.
• Account data: Retained until you delete your account.
• Pre-launch waitlist email: If you signed up via the waitlist form on getratemyfit.com, we store your email address solely to send a one-time notification when the app launches. The email is stored as a SHA-256 hash for the doc identifier; the address itself is retained for sending the launch email and removed within 30 days after launch unless you choose to keep receiving updates. Every waitlist email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.

6. Your Rights

You can:

• Delete your account at any time from the Profile tab in the app. This removes your authentication record and profile data.
• Request data export or deletion by contacting us at the email below.

7. Children's Privacy

The app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date above.
